Are the latest maps for the 550 any different?

i.e. do they have thing like lane assist or are they the same functionality with updated road layouts etc?


Basically I am fed up with the 550 crashing and losing my data, so I am considering either getting a replacement with the same maps for £111, getting a replacement and updating the the maps for something like £160-180 or getting something completely new for god knows how much.

The Lane Assist (Junction View) is only available on units that support it. The 550 isn't one of these, that's unless Garmin change the firmware to allow it but even that might not be possible. A mapping update will just provide more up to date mapping, that's all.
