Just had my 18000 mile service done today, which cost me a small fortune. £392 including some additional work to retorque cyclinder head bolts, adjust rocker and floats, put new rear brake pads on and replace a leaking washer from the temp sensor under the tank. The rear brake pads alone, including labour and vat, were about £75. If I have to pay nearly £400 every 6000 miles, plus whatever the annual costs, then I reckon I am looking at £1500 quid a year if i include a set of tyres. Thats a lot of dosh to service a bike. My car costs a third of that and its a Merc.
So, given that I can only perform basic maintenance tasks, does anyone know of any courses that would show me the servicing basics, so that only the really complicated stuff needs to be one at the dealers?
