I've been out today and noticed a couple of new faults. The brake failure light is now on all the time and the self canceling function nolonger works . When I set out this morning all was fine.

Is it likly that the faults have a common cause???????????

what are you riding? See a recent post re ABS failure, and the solution. Can't remember who it was but they were kind enough to detail their actual fix. Might be a similar issue?

Had this recently. It was my rear ABS sensor. Swapped out under warranty and all well now. Easy fix and probably not too expensive. A GS 911 would confirm.

Cheers for the replies. For clarity I've got a 2008 R1200GS. Rear ABS sensor was my first thought but I have no idea how or why this would affect the indicators.
(Is it time or distance traveled that cancels the indicators? )

Your right the sensor measures the distance travelled. Thats what the mechanic told me anyway.

Self canceling works on time and distance hence they don't cancel when sat at junction. Money on rear Abs / speed sensor.

I finally got round to rectifying the fault, it was a speed sensor fault. The insulation rubbed through. I found a clip that I didn't notice previously so hopefully won't have the problem again
