Looking to put some aux lights onto my 06 1200GS.
However I'm sure you all know that this can be an expensive business.
I saw these "WUNDERLICH SPOTLIGHT SET - R1200GS" for £189 plus VAT.
I saw these "Halfords Ring Micro cruise light" for £26.99.

Now with the Halfords kit you need to buy a wire loom (cheap) and some sort of light bar but sure it will come out much much cheaper wouldn't it?

Any ideas folks? :drool

There's something dodgy about your Halfords links. My computer doesn't like them. :nenau
But Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Halfords lights are exactly the same as the Wunderlich ones except for the fancy bracketry.

Rich C is the man to send a PM to. He's a sales manager for a certain North of England automotive accessory company :thumb2

Yep your right, but sorted it out now. cheers

Ok I have sourced a couple of brackets from ebay

My next question would be bout the wiring!!

Is there an idiot proof 1200gs wire loom that I can fit without having to buy a soldering iron and crimpers??

The bike is my only daily transport option so I need to be pretty sure I'm not going to make a hash of it before I start.

.... and therein lies the reason for the price of the Wunderlich kit: Bespoke brackets and wiring harness, relays and full English instructions.

They were "only" £139 when I bought mine...

Bon chance!

Very good point instructions would be handy when you don't know what you are doing.

How did you get on with the wires? do you need solder etc?

Cool I have a heat gun.
I may stump up the extra cash if it means I'm not going to shaft my bike:beerjug::beerjug:

I put a pair of those micro cruise lights on my 1150 a few years ago and worked fine ever since, with only a £1.99 car switch and relay bought form Halfords (non-waterproof but has always worked in all weathers) to operate them - came with brackets which I fitted to a light bar made out of a length of steel bought form B&Q. Much cheaper than the overpriced kits supplied by the likes of wunderlich etc. Not sure about wiring on the 1200 with that canbus system though!
