Are you a happy 1200GS owner?

supremely Happy :D

I'm a very happy bunny, still only done 1900 miles, but everyone has been full of smiles...

Plenty of power, lots of fun, comfortable to ride and "fingers crossed" no problems yet.....

Roll on the next 2000 miles... i'm sure they'll be as trouble free as the last...

:D

Stu.

8000 miles and its a complete joy - apart from the cleaning - its comfy, grunty, agile, stable and easy to ride fast, reliable? - so far and i love the looks.

Superb bike...........far better than my Blackbird

No problem with BMW who delivered to dealer to the day

No problem with Mill who did everything I asked for and on time

No problem with first service

No problem with Touratech who delivered all my stuff on time

No problem with Nippy Norman, who offered advice and again delivered quality stuff on time.

I have to ask what so many people on this site have to bloody moan about.

11000 miles in 11 months. Ridden every day, rain, snow or shine. Very excited pillion on long and fast runs.

Am I a happy 12GS owner?

Is Michael Jackson innocent?

Um scratch that...

Is Robert Blake remorseful about his wifes demise?

Um that one too...

OK, OK, I got it. is OJ aichmophobia,

Dang, scratch that one too...

I love it. :beerjug:

Love the bike but not at all happy with BMW's ability to deal with problems as they arise.

No issues with the dealer but BMW should provide courtesy bikes if your's breaks down - and they shouldn't insist on sending out a car technician who knows nothing about bikes before they arrange to recover you.

Just coming up to 7000 miles and only had one small problem (touch wood, fingers crossed etc etc!) which was sorted by Wollastons. Does everything brilliantly. Only thing I'd replace it with would be another one with exactly the same spec; Yellow, ABS & wires.

Mega!!

Despite my GS 12 been broken, i can truly say following a trip to the NW200 in northen Ireland the bike is nothing short of amazing. Whatever you choose to do whether it be chilled sight seeing or mega blasting the Bimmer does it brilliantly. I had a blast the other day with a mate on his Huskqavarna Supermoto, we went on his favourite unclassified twister road between Hebden Bridge and Colne( south pennines). He was nothing short of amazed as i blasted past him, he couldn't believe how "such a big bike was so nimble" and was equally amazed how the suspension coped with the bumpy road.........The bike is such fun to ride at ALL times which sets it apart from any other bike!!

Over the moon. An 1100 mile trip round Irealnd and Waled proved that in the real world the GS is awesome. The 2 GS's on the trip devoured the other 8 bikes, an enthusiastically ridden Blackbird included. Don't miss my blade one bit.

Owner for 15 months, R1150GS for 4 years before that, and still believe there is nothing on the market to compare with the R1200GS.
Recently had a long test ride on the R1200ST and loved the extra power, gearing more suited to on road work, and what seemed like an improvement in the gearbox. But still wouldn't swap the GS.
Also had a 90 minute ride on the K1200R, absolutely awesome, sufficient torque to make the gearbox redundant, comfortable riding position, superb road bike, but again, wouldn't swap the GS.
Happy? yeah, you could say that.

GS is Great and I hate it!

This bike is great! It makes you enjoy every street you ride, every corner you go around... There is everything you can think of: power, agility, stability, lightness..

BUT This bike is not reliable!!

My brake problems (related to stupidt 0.001€ switsh) still continue, bike is still at works for that. Another issue with final drive bearings having play...

_Frustrated_!!!!

Love the bike, the ride, the comfort and the handling.

Just don't reckon much to BMW Customer Care, or reactions, by BMW, when things go wrong.

I suspect that they released the bike too soon and before they had solved all the reliability issues.

Having said that, when all is well, it is by far the best bike on the road.

Yes I am reasonably happy….(with my 1200GS 2,500 miles)
I like….
The road presents.
Riding position.
Style.
Handling.
I don’t like…
Clunky down change.
Snatch & grab throttle response.
Lack of torque at lower revs & having to change gear like a 2 stroke.
That said I don't think I'll change until I have given it a good chance (a lot more miles).

Very happy with mine. I reckon that it's a better bike than my adorable 1100S and that's saying something. A trip to Portugal via France and Spain and a recent foray to Scotland have proven just what a good all-round machine it is. My first GS I can't see this being my last. Incidentally I'm taking a K1200R for a test ride this next Friday but I can't see how it will trump the GS (The S is going in for it's MOT ya see).
