I hope anyone with an F800 or a 658 can read this thread from another forum.

I found that I was being systematically overcharged by a local BMW dealer on each oil change. I was billed for 4 liters when the bike only takes 3 liters.
There are now people who have had this happen to them in Canada, the USA, and here in Mexico. It appears that BMW dealers are using some sort of program that dictates 4 liters of oil for the bike and even though the mechanic is not using 4 liters that is what they charge.

Please let me know your thoughts and please review your bills.
Thanks for your time.

Haven`t had my GS serviced yet but had an 800S (essentialy same engine) serviced three times by two different dealers and they used 3 litres.

Thanks for the replies. If I can get an Aussie or a European continent individual to see how they have been charged that would be great. The overcharging has happened in Canada, USA, and Mexico and worldwide reports from riders are most welcome to see how far this problem goes.

Jaq ...

... was charged for 10 Oil Filters on her last service; we didn't even notice until Ocean called up after a stock check :augie

Just had my 6000m service and was charged for 4L ! I'm in Jersey

Just had my annual service performed at the dealer, including oil change. I was charged for 3 (units unspecified, probably litres) in Toronto. Mind you, I was charged an extra 0.1 hour labour because the mechanic had to remove and replace the after-market belly pan. Labour is $108/hr, Cdn.

I spoke to the dealer and they said we get the oil in 4l tins so I could go back and collect my litre whenever I wanted. ****in shysters

I am sure they save it up and every third customer gets free oil, anything else would be dishonest not at all what one would expect from motor traders.

I got charged for 2.3 litres of oil yesterday, Rainbow BMW:D

Mind you, it was for an XChallenge:augie

basic theft - its their duty to inform you its yours and offer it back when you pay for it.

however - as an ex dealer mech, we used to get the oil in bulk that was then transferred to 25l portable hand pumped drums - no faffing with containers, too messy and took too much time

i'd be asking to see their oil facilities before a service and question the amount BEFOREHAND

i think you're all being ripped off

Most dealers are bulk and most UK BMW dealers meter into into the bike, per 100ml

The OP was in Mexico....................not UK and they could be doing anything there:rolleyes:
