Just read the new members introduction site and new member from Doncaster Bucko 1340 says he is 61 years old. This got me thinking about the age range of GS owners and whether it really is an old mans bike (sorry that's sexist.....mature riders bike). I'm new to GS ownership this year via a K100RT and R1100S and one of the main reasons for buying my 2007 1200GS was its relaxed riding position for my ageing body. I notice at biker cafes that a lot of GS owners are more mature riders.......so, is it a bike for oldies? And how old are you?

Not so designed, maybe, but happens to suit me and my body, falling apart now from rugby injuries as a young one. (+15k miles a year, age over 60)

33 here - got a GS a few weeks back.
I just really can't be arsed with sports bikes anymore.
I love the GS because it's happy not to go everywhere with its arse on fire. It makes for a much more relaxing ride of which I can enjoy without the fear of losing my license.

It'll still shift when you want it to though ;)

I think someone did a poll a couple of years ago.

If I remember correctly I think the average age was around 56.

42 here and had my 1150 for a year, sold the duke 1198 for a triumph explorer so the adv bike bug has bitten!

I’m going to attempt for the youngest gser then, I’m 27 now and have owned it for nearly 4 years, hence 23 when I bought it, ive also done a good 30k+ miles around Europe on my own :thumby:

Is there a prize?

Regards,
Someone who is now probably unpopular

You probably are the winner..........unless anyone else shouts up. No prize just yet though.

PS I reckon most GSers would like to be 27 again.
