Hey you can't own a location man!!
Hi,

As I'm due to leave for Buenos Aires on the 24th October, I thought I'd start my blog so anyone who's interested can keep track of what I'm up to and share the up's and down's of my travels

It's still very much in its early stages but I'm trying show my progress up to the point of departure at the moment. Comments can be left either on this thread or on the site, but all are welcome.

I'm still waiting to get the bike photos of it being crated so as soon as I have them they will be posted. All went well since I got the license back and it was delivered on Monday to the shipper and is due to leave on the 6th.

Cheers

Nik

Oy Nik!

Just do it. :thumb Any help you need drop us a line here.

And... ride safe!

Cheers, Margus (aka jelaous tosser ;))

PS: If you get done with the shipping please post any info about it to www.Horizonsunlimited.com site too on Shipping section - theres very appriciated database there. I recommend searching some info there if you plan to ship back from Alaska too - very good stuff.

Cheers Margus,

Read your report, feel bad for both of you but glad you both OK look forward to reading the next adventure!

As soon as I arrive in BS I'll be putting feedback about the shipper on the site, so far I can't fault them, very professional and genuine nice people!

All the best

Good luck Nik. I rode around Alaska earlier this year and it changed my view of biking completely. If you get stuck in Anchorage in any way, call Phil Freeman or Rob @ Alaska Rider Tours [email protected] 1-800-756-1990/(907)272-2777 and say you're a friend of mine (they know me as Paddy or GIT ie Guide in Training). They're stand up guys.

Thanks for all the support guys, just adding stuff here and there.

Just bought my laptop so ready to keep you all entertained while I'm away...Trying to learn Spanish is like pulling teeth!

Managed to get the pictures of the bike being packed, really weird seeing it like that, and hoping I see it in the same condition at the other end.

Cheers

Here goes....??

Hi Guys,

Well here I am tomorrows the big day, all packed and ready to go….a mixture of nerves and pure excitement about what lay head for me  ? I could list already the things I would do differently if I had to do this again, but they can wait until the next trip. I’ve being weighing the luggage over and over to make the 20KG limit check-in baggage – should have sent more with the bike (doh!)

I’ll keep it short on here as I’ll do a full write up on the blog and try and update it with pictures while waiting for flights.

Thanks to everyone who’s been in contact, either with advice or support or both, especially Schtum who's been dragged around helping me out. Hope to meet up with Fritz & Bev at some point over the next few weeks!

Next time you hear from me I’ll be in sunny BA…..bring it on

Cheers :thumb

Have a good one!

Boz,

Have a good one. I'll be watching your progress with interest as the girlfriend and I will be doing a similar route this time next year.

Enjoy, Hambo ;)
