Read in this months Ride magazine that Akrapovic are planning to release a road legal version of their race series pipe this Autumn. Down side is that the price is expected to go up slightly!

I still want one though.....

(third on the list after engine bars and set of panniers)

Looks like I may have to sell a kidney first...

60/40 in favour of krap

What's the matter with you lot.........it looks the dogs....

insert dangles/dinner.......

The twin shotgun Akra system is pretty radical visually compared to the other choices out there (with the exception of deep throat or whatever it's called :D ) which use a single can.

Personally I find it's not in keeping with the style of the bike, but that's just a personal opinion.

The first change I made when I got the bike was to ditch the stock front pipes and fit a set of Remus replacement headers together with the stock can, lined up perfectly and you could feel the difference in ditching the main part of the cat.

I tried a Laser end can but did not like it and eventually ended up with a titanium Remus Revolution which I'm totally happy with.

If it has you drooling go for it! :thumb

I saw one fitted to a GS at the dealers. the price is steep but it is Titanium (not that it makes much difference to total weight :D )

But the sounds was the dogs danglies and its road legal....

Listen to it first, then make up your mind :thumb

There is a Titanium single can version of Akra that many do not seem to know about - listed under Nippy Norms if I remember correctly, available in S/Steel or full Titanium inner. Note that thgis is what is run on the competition HP2's...

Further which Laser can did you try - was it the Duotone (I think they call it - the one with the changeable baffle) - what was it you did not like?

I've heard of people combining the Remus front pipes with the single Akra can on their bikes, works quite successfully it appears as Akra only sell their fronts with the twin shotgun system.

It was the Duo tech version of the Laser I tried, it comes with 2 baffles, a road legal and a sport version.

When I fitted the sport version I found there was a "whistling" noise when you wound the power off, it was quite pronounced and I found it really annoying, apparently it is caused by a bar inside the baffle.

I know some people run the can with no baffle fitted, but I found this just too loud so I switched to the Remus.

You don't happen to have the quiet baffle for sale...? I've got a DuoTech on my K1200R but I don't have the quiet baffle... (nor the card that comes with it)

Sorry, sold the lot with the can. :(

That's how it should be... however it wasn't for me :o So now I'm trying to locate a quiet insert (and hopefully the certificate)... :)

Looks like I'll have to stick the standard zorst on for the Nurburgring trip.. :eek

Thanks for replying, Thunder. :thumb
