Armas - a bit chilly?

It's early days into my Armas ownership experience but I have to confess that by now I felt I should be bathing in the depths of quality of fitment and features whereas it's quite the opposite

I found the whole thing stiff and baggy as a fitment never mind the fact that;

FC Moto declares that first of all the jkt doesnt even come with a back protector ffs!! - for 990Euro!!

So I now have to buy one.

Secondly, the lattice elbow protection is killing my elbows so ill have to order some softer D3O gel elbow protectors too ffs

Thirdly, as opposed to enjoying some mystical NASA super dooper space tech that magically reflects the sun and keeps me cool or keeps me magically snug while its freezing outside i actually feel quite chilly wearing it expecially compared to my cheap ass RST Paragon @ £120

So there you go - it may have been love at first hype (especially being influenced by you lot ) but at the moment we shall just have to learn to live with each other

I have a spare Rukka back protector which you can have for a tenner if it's any use to you. It's this type:

The fabric will soften with use. I also found the armour in the elbows noticeable at first but either it got a bit softer or I just stopped noticing it.

It isn't the warmest kit ... But there are workarounds and a few years in I wouldn't swap it.

I bought one, rode to Italy and back and sold it as soon as I returned. Not a patch on a twat jacket IMHO.

I bought it with a view to taking it to Italy next month but reckoned it would be too warm

A twat jkt is great for Italian climes but way too cold for the UK IMHO.

My rukka is by no means the warmest kit that I have but that is not an issue as I have a heated vest. Regarding the fit and comfort the only issue I had initially was the lattice knee protection but know it is A ok. I got mine from bikerland and it came with the back protector. I can't see any reason I will need to change for along time unless I become a fatter tosser but if that is the case I have no reason not to buy another armas suit.

While an outer layer of gear can block some of the heat-sapping wind, layers underneath will help keep your body heat from escaping. Some riders keep it simple with off-the-shelf long johns, while others wear more technical under gear specifically designed for motorcycling. Either way, layering underneath is essential to staying warm when temperatures dip.

layer up and can stay warm in any make of bike kit

cheap kit has a bin bag liner type so it will alway keep you warm but
when its hot is hard to adjust the wind flow,with out the jacket flapping about

Nowt but praise for my Armas

Came with back protector, all fits snug and comfy and draught free

Two or three thin layers underneath are all you'll ever be wanting, well for me anyway

Loved my Rukka Marcos I bought 5 years ago, but fancied a change (bit warm in high summer), got my Armas last December at Louis for £640 and it is a cracking bit of kit with some really nice bits of design ie the sleeve/glove interface area.
Wore it in minus 1 for 250 miles earlier in the year with no liner but with base layer and mid base layer on with no problems and been out today in 12 degrees and it was fine.
Like the idea of the vents for the warm weather and as an all year round touring jacket it is hard to beat

Sleeves of the liner? They have colour co-ordinated buttons at the cuff to keep them in position

Tend to wear a long sleeve base layer ie Mountain warehouse's own brand stuff or Berghaus/Dare 2b and for mid base layer I have a selection of Dare 2b, Under Armour or my favourite at the minute a Haglofs top.
Mountain Warehouse do some gear designed for cyclists which is cheap and long in the back and arms so is great on the bike.
