Around this time last year....

This time last year I thought a trip to the Gambia would be a good idea :eek

At this rate the weather will be fine in time for the Raasay rammie.

Been Oot - Been Aff!!

Well,
Started work today after the Xmas /New year hols and although Joyce offered to run me into work( at 0630!!) - I said I'd manage on the bike:eek - so off I went.
Managed the 7 miles down to the difficult roads to the dual carraigeway outside the work but the central slip road was rutted iced under snow so I'm just "cruising" across it when the front end just goes away to the left fast & slaps me & the bike down hard on the road. my right knee took total impact of bike against the road & my knee & hip are feeling pretty sorry for themselves:(. I abandoned the bike in the work & got Joyce to pick me up so it looks like I'm back in the hoose for a few days.
Needless to say this was NOT on the GS but on my F650 Funduro winter hack & it looks like the only real damage was a back indicator destroyed = me leg took the rest of the impact - I never liked this bike in the ice/snow - to heavy & too sharp on/off throttle but I like it even less now, I think I'm too auld for this winter stuff:rob:rob
I wouldn't want to be setting off on any long trips in this sh-te:rolleyes:

Cheers......................Grizzly:beer:

get well G .....what is it they say about liniment being rubbed into the sore bits...... :duno .....that or your cooking whisky....:thumb

Glad to hear yer awright, Geo :beerjug:

I was over in St Andrews this afternoon and it was hairy enough on back roads in the car!

Glad to hear you're not too badly hurt- as has been said, try rubbing some good alcohol on from the inside.

My bike is staying in the garage until this ice melts although it and me is starting to get a bit stir crazy:pullface

Sounds painful on the one hand and on the other not the best idea you have had going out on the bike in ice:D:D It was great as a teenager on my RD350B but after dropping it about 6 times in one night I leave them alone in weather like this. In fact I might get the dog hooked up to a sledge:rolleyes:
