Arrow exhaust system

Did you have to pull off a load of wire mesh stuff from the OEM collector to get the Arrow TP to fit?

No, I don't recall doing that. All a bit odd. I just took the original silencer off and slid the Arrow on.

Interesting.
My OEM headers exit pipe had a load of really tough wire mesh impregnated with some silver sealant that made the diameter of the pipe approx. 4mm wider than the Arrow TP, even the TP clamp wouldn't fit over this mesh.
Once I had prized all this stuff off - the TP was a perfect fit, but it does prevent me from putting the OEM TP back on as it will now be too big... :blast

Either Arrow make TP's with different diameter connections (one to be used with thier headers and one to be used with the OEM headers) or Yamaha have changed the design of the OEM exit pipe... :nenau

Gonna email Arrow and ask them..

The mesh is just an exhaust gasket , you can buy one from your friendly local(?) Yamaha parts supplier or Fowlers part number 5VY-14714-00 Muffler Gasket.

Yea, that's the little bugger :blast
Was so tough to get off I thought it was an integral part of the pipe.... lol

Same part is used on the R1, and others no doubt....
