I have a 2015 LC and currently have an Arrow end can.

Love the sound (with baffle in) and the look.

I am thinking of adding the arrow header pipes to get rid of the cat and exhaust valve.

My question is do I need to have it re tuned i.e. Will the full system cause the engine to run lean and potentially damage it ?

Any help answers much appreciated

Thanks Cabby...you say its 2016 but mine is a 2015 model is this still the case.

Is it the Lambda sensors that take care of the fuelling mixture ?

Ha that made me laugh.

Sorry thought you were referring to the bikes year of manufacture. DOH

Thanks

It's by no means as simple as Cabby makes out. The fuel injection system will only adjust for the changes within the parameters of the map plus trims. If the air / fuel requirements are outside those parameters at any point, then, at best, the bike will not run at its optimum and at worst it may be seriously lean. I wouldn't fit a full system to any modern bike without attention to the fuelling.

If you're riding with the baffle in, whats the purpose of eliminating the cat and flap? not for noise, so for power? If so, you'll want to have it remapped to get the benefit of the headers anyway and they can correct your A/F ratio.

Found the sound with the baffle out too harsh.

I have already had the flap seize closed so really want rid of it seems an unnecessary piece of unreliable equipment, also hope I will get a deeper not necessarily louder sound from the headers. Also some weight reduction.

More power would be welcome but not my primary reason for replacing the headers.

Ive only had the baffle out, but fitting headers to mine made it louder. Noticeably on deceleration. Also makes one hell of a pop and bang out the back :D

Fitted the Arrow headers great deep sound and noticeable improvement in torque. Booked into Hills next week for a remap.

Thanks Redrick, have done so. I am insured through Carole Nash and no additional charge, I was pleasantly surprised.

I was only taking the piss as a by product of the other thread bu8t nice to hear your honesty and indeed CN approach

Ha ...thought I should let them know and pleased at their attitude.

Have to look up "other thread" presumably about insurers trying to avoid paying out for non disclose of alterations. My understanding was anything that doesn't effect performance they cannot use but performance improvement alterations they can.

Don't want to resurrect threads that I am sure have been well and truly aired so will have a trawl through

So does that mean you will disclose the visit to Geoff's as a performance enhancemen?..:augie

Just kidding....:JB
