Was thinking about keeping the alu panniers off my 1200GSA before getting rid of it, but after 3 years they dont look so good . . bugger to keep clean . . but there are those that would say dont bother (but I always have been a bit clinical). Probably go for plastic next time.

The R1200GSA ally panniers look the same as those for the F800GS, but they're completely different - I believe you can fit them using a rack from Holan, but IMHO they won't look right, and the kosher F800GS ones will have a narrower overall width. They're still quite wide though - 42" overall on mine.

Yup, it was.

The Holan rack idea was good in a way, except in the pics I saw, they didn't look quite as good on the bike as the dedicated breadbins do. And they're wider overall, IIRC - the "correct" ones are wide enough already...
