does anyone know anything about these little boxes that the ISPs insist be used?
I've been having trouble with my AOL connection ( don't laugh, I know.....) with the well known AOL problem "LAN cable disconnected".
Having tried all the recommended fixes, as a last resort I put on a new asdl filter I found in the drawer. LO, like magic, no disconnections -- for about 2 weeks. Now it's as bad as ever.
Was it just coincidence that i was able to stay on line with a new filter - or will I need to track down a ready supply of these little magic boxes?
