I'm looking for an aluminium fuel cap for a R100. vintage Monza type
Does anybody know of a supplier. Thanks

Also try Kevills Speedshop.

He's the chap in Newton Abbot that makes the BMW cafe racers. There was a feature about him in last week's MCN. He is a sound bloke.:)

I,m getting this ready for touring in the spring, oil leak from push rod tubes . is it worth getting the valve seats replaced to run on unleaded as the heads will be off .

Best to get a full top end overhaul done if your having new seats. Richie moore will do you a set of his nice one piece valves for less than a set of dodgy two piece ones. He'll also fit trick guides and replace the seats.

Head upgrade

I bought it about a year ago off this site it was also on E bay . It was lots of money but pretty good order .I,ve replaced lots of rotted wiring . and it rides well. The only real problem is it cuts out without warning sometimes after 1/2 hour other times 3 hours ,i have to turn ignition off and it restarts. Bit of a problem when overtaking! I,m still hoping it will be my touring bike if i can get some reliability from it. How much roughly is it to do the heads .

Richard,

I have a 78 100/7 with over 200k on it. Id trust it to take me anywhere so well worth the effort. Is your bike fitted with an analogue Boyer (Black case)?

Richie Moores valves, guides, valve seats etc came out to around £325 including all the fitting work and postage. The reliability of the BMW valves is a little suspect at the minute so Richies one piecers are not only cheaper than BMW but a safer bet.
