For anyone finding the Quest is too quiet when used with Autocom or similar unit

The Garmin Quest has a quiet voice, especially when used through the Autocom supressed Part 57 lead. But its a quiet unit anyway and fairly distorted at the top end.

The very best I could manage (using earplugs) was hearing its directions in still conditions at urban speeds. Definitely not M/way.

So I bought a Boosteroo amp from 'I want one of those'..

and hey presto.. ITS LOUD.

other things to get right before trying this are:

Download the latest speech software update from their website via 'auto updater'.

Check your Quest is attached to the autocom unit through the 3.5 mm aux socket on the unit and ..via the Part 57 lead...not the 5 pin auxilliary.

Position ear speakers right over your lug'oles.

Find the quietest position for your screen..no screen is quieter than one that has the air blast hitting you at helmet height.

If that doesn't make the difference, I can recommend this excellent Boosteroo amp. £23 approx
