Hi All,
There's a magazine coming out that is going to be devoted only to overlanding and long distance travel. :clap I've just had an email from Alun Davies who is the editor of Adventure Bike Rider Magazine - Alun is also the editor of Adventure Travel magazine, which is highly thought of. Alun is of course a motorcyclist himself, and an experienced traveller.

So here goes with Alun's email:
Adventure Bike Rider has gone to the printers, you can view the front cover we choose on http://www.adventurebikerider.com Individual copies will be £3-50, a 4 issue subscription £10 and both one offs and subs will be available on the website, next week.

In the news agents it's being bagged up free with Adventure Travel magazine, so you get both mags for £3.50. Plus there are going to be stand alone mags available in W H Smiths and independent newsagents within two weeks - that's after the 2 for 1 with Adventure Travel has had a run.

It's A4 size and for the first year we'll be quarterly - though judging by the interest we could be bi-monthly sooner rather than later.

Fantastic news eh - can't wait to snag a copy.

Cheers all.
Sam

Another Mag to add to the collection...seriously though, this does look interesting....Thanks for the heads up. :beerjug:

It's about tome there was something decent to read
I stopped reading bike mags cause your alwas stuck
With sports bike mags who think it's perfectly fine
To ride like a dick popping wheelies and speeding.
Looking forward to reading the first issue

Another thanks for the heads up Sam :thumb

I've just cancelled my subs for Bike.... fed up with the knee down stuff.... hopefully this will be a replacement for 'Motorcycle Voyager'

Remember that one? didn't last long unfortunately :(

Look forward to picking it up :beerjug:

Too true re Motorcycle Voyager Bry, I was a subscriber and still have every issue. Great read. Bought & trashed by EMAP, IIRC :(

Let's hope this one lasts, be great to see articles from the likes of Sam Manicom et al back on the shelf in WHS :thumb2

I decided to just try out one issue instead of a full sub. I ordered it online at about 3pm, paid via paypal. Received the magazine the following morning! Cant get better than that for service.

Looks good so far. I have had a quick look and I am impressed with what I read. Definitely worth a punt.

I for one will be subscribing. :thumb

Got our copy last week, and it's pretty good.:thumb2

Some nice ride reports, a few kit reports and what you'd expect from its title really.....worth getting :thumb2

Read your bit in it Sam :bow....it seems all the usual suspects are within its covers (Including us :augie) :D

Well thats F***** that then!
I was going to subscriber online just now BUT!
you HAVE to pay via PayPal no other option on screen,
Well i got screwed by pp a year or three ago to the tune
of £500. So they have lost my sale...:(

Just subscribed. :bounce1 Let see what turn up. Got to be better than what I just looked at in Smiths today.

Subscribed and Issue 1 arrived today. Had a good read in the bath and still have half or more still to read. I usually dispense with Bike etc in half an hour easily.
Hope they can keep up the quality and quantity of the content.
