My son downloads about every song in the world and bloody crap ones at that:( and my PC is starting to slow up.
At what % disc space does it really notice.
I am on 75% used up at present?
Its been defragmentated

it'll probably work okish until it's nearly full, but i'd say it's time to buy a second hard drive now & and run it as a slave with the original in place as master.

20 minute job and about £50 for the HDD.

Wipe the bloody lot and tell him to buy his own puter:augie

I would not mind if it was decent music but its that 'Bum and base' stuff.

What a load of crap!

I said Led Zepplin are making a come back.....Why are they making another Zepplin for :(

Even Elviv Presleys making a comeback...... just another 5 feet to go:D

Like MotoMartin says get an external HDD, cheap as chips now.

Getting another HD is a good idea......but i suspect it won't be that that's slowing the PC down Banger....more likely to be the silly progs, the crap adware and the free trials, i-tunes, music library search updates ,add ons and crappy games etc that he may have d/loaded that are slowing it down.

Buy (or get him to buy) a second HDD, but also reformat, reinstall and start from scratch...then set him up on the pc on a non-administrator account so he can't do it again :thumb2
