Can anyone tell me the spanner size for the bleed screw on an ATE caliper? I make it 10.5mm -not a common spanner in Oz

Not a common spanner anywhere. I thought it was 11mm.
I'm sure you have a fine collection of sprained spanners and mysterious bent bars in your toolkit that you could use

I thought 11mm too but it's a bit sloppy (tried a couple of different ones) and these buggers round off v easy (may be just me).
Funny you should mention the sprained spanners as I uncovered a much modified one for a forgotten job in my search for a 10.5mm.
Isn;t 7/16 just smaller than 11 mm ???
