I sourced a very good condition Adv tank but it came without the tank roundals. I've now sourced the right sized badges (anyone want a set of standard-sized ones? :blast )
Does anyone know how they were originally attached to the tank (adhesive?) or a way of attaching them? I bought some Scotch double-sided tape (exterior), but I think this may raise the roundal away from the tank slightly and allow water ingress behind, possibly degrading the adhesive.

Thanks for any suggestions (y)

If you’ve bought the correct roundels for the tank they already come with adhesive tape on the back, you don’t need to buy extra

Thanks for the info MH (y)
I sourced the badges off fleabay, they were for BM cars. Could not justify £93!!!!! for 2 motorcycle roundels from Motorworks (and they were out of stock at the time anyway). Trying to find the originals was like finding an ADV tank, or other 'hen's teeth' items for a GS1150.
So I went with plastic ones. Cut off the 2 small spokes that go into the car's bodywork and now sctratching my head as to how to attach them. The badges I have aren't quite flat, so I'm unsure if I attached them with 2-sided tape, the tape would make full contact with the tank's surface.
Thanks for confirming they are stuck on via adhesive tape. I'm now wondering if there is any thinner double-sided tape out there than the Scotch brand I have. The challenge continues.

3M VHB and you will have to shoot them with a cannon to take them off.
VHB is incredible.

3M VHB is good, but you need to ensure the surfaces are spotless and warm it up with a hairdryer before you stick it down - used it for my helmet cams with great success.

Also I’ve found it an utter pain trying to peel back the plastic coating from the sticky pad itself. Whatever I try I can’t seem to catch the edge!

Many thanks for the suggestions chaps. Looks like 3M VHB has the vote. I guess I must get the tape in exactly the right position before putting in place. (y)
