 I have my photos stored in microsoft picture gallery. I have tried to attach a photo to my post but it comes up saying picture too big.
I have tried 'cropping' but this does not reduce the size of the photo. I can find nothing to 'reduce' size.
I have searched for info on the threads but can't find anything.
Help would be appreciated ta!:thumb2

presume you are on windows if so open the file with paint and resize using the percentage function and then save as whatever format u wish, but save to a different directory than the orig one or you will lose the orig image. hope this helps.

Upload your pics to Photobucket or Smugmug then simply link your pics to your post by using the IMG tags. :thumb2

If you can open them in MS Paint, do that and then re-size, don't crop.

Alternatively, find a photo-hosting site such as SmugMug or Photobucket then you don't need to bother re-sizing (and it acts as a back-up if your computer goes belly-up).

You need to reduce the file size not the image size I think

Cropping a photo doesn't reduce the file size appreciably as the resolution is still too big for posting on this site

Download a program called irfanview and load your picture, set the image size to 640 by 480 and re-save in a different filename to preserve your original picture the attach the new file to your post -

for a simple and step by step guide to posting images......

see 'sticky's guide in items for sale 'posting in this section' after that it's easy
