Bit thick me when it comes to computers but I'm learning - slowly.
I have a Mac and was wondering ....
How do I take a picture off a web page and post as an attatched image on this site.
I can obviously post my own photos through photobucket but dont know how to attach an image like you see people do.
Make sense, I told you I was thick.

I'm unfortunately not familiar with Macs, but on my PC I save the picture to the desktop then host it in photobucket. Probably a simpler way somewhere though...

Firstly though, to save the web picture so you can work to resize it.
R click on the pic and 'save picture as' whatever you want to call it in whatever folder you decide to put it in. then follow the instructions posted by Tuned In :)

Trippy to save off the web page using IE6/7 place cursor on the image and right click with mouse(I don't know if a Mac works the same though), from the menu select 'save target' or 'save picture' ,when prompted where to save select 'desktop' and then save it. It helps if you also rename the file to one you'll recognise as well.
Hope it helps but I've never used a Mac.
.
Hopefully having saved the photo, when you post a thread, click on 'manage attachments' select the photo off your desktop and 'upload image' make sure the file is no bigger than 122kbs (right click on image select 'properties' it'll tell you there.

Simple - as most Mac things are (including the users) :D

Drag the pic to your desktop.

When you reply write your text then click on the 'manage attachments' button below the txt box and navigate to the pic and click 'upload'

Not ethat there are size limits for the pics

also note that Paul would rather you used photobucket or similar as the site's bandwidth is not used up by loads of stupid pictures of long grass and poorly painted fences :thumb

....long grass and poorly painted fences ... ??

sounds like this lot :D :D

You don't necessarily need to download the image onto your PC/Mac.
If the site allows, you can make a direct link.

Not sure if it works the same on a Mac, but on Windows machine you can...
Right click on the image.
Select Image properties.
Copy the Location.
Then use the ukgser Insert Image button, or wrap the
tags around the Location you have just copied above.

for example... (from the BMW Motorrad site)

This way you are linking directly to the image on the original website.
However, some web sites will bllock you from doing this.
