Back to the video - is the problem with the Roadlok that it is a bit too discrete and not a highly visible deterrent? Looks like the scrotes did not even know it was fitted until after they snapped the steering lock and then tried to push it away
Possibly, although you can clearly see the yellow reminder flag hanging from the lock in the video. The thieves either didn't notice it or didn't think much of it. It seems they only realised a Roadlok was fitted after they'd broken the steering lock and tried to push the bike away. That's when the theft attempt came to a very sudden stop.
Sad but true. And if it had been a member of the public he’d probably have been prosecuted
Many years ago my elder brother used to live above a motorbike shop and he heard something in the rear yard so he climbed out of the window onto the flat roof and appeared above them silhouetted by the light behind him and shouted at them to leave.. he was brandishing a Sword at the time as he was into arms & armoury re-enactments.
He called the owners and the police and whilst giving his statement he mentioned the sword, and he was told, if he'd used it and tossed it over the fence, that officer wouldn't have bothered looking for it too hard but we now know times have changed and they'd be more interested in the upstanding member of the public standing up for what's right.

It is why I applied Hi-viz Yellow reflective stripes to my Hiplok. I notice they now do a version with a Yellow base. Would do the same with the Roadlok, were I to get one.
I would rather the scum see the lock and think, "nah, we will look elsewhere", rather than fail to push it away and just chuck it on the ground.

You assume that these thugs operate within the boundary of some form of social nicety. They are as likely to just see the lock, not bother even trying and then push the bike over for something to do, presumably ‘messaging’ their displeasure to the bike’s owner.
I wouldn't have confronted them. Shits like that are usually armed with knives and my life is worth more than any motorbike. I would have phoned the police, for all the good that would do and tried to film what was going on, not knowing that it was already being filmed. It beggars belief just how brazen these thieves have become, knowing that they will get away with it time and time again. If they do get caught some smarmy solicitor will tell a sob story to the court and the little shits (defendants and solicitor) will walk away smirking.

I live near the scene of the above ,discussed , attempted theft . Three years ago I witnessed two ninjas , pushing a third ninja , using right foot from their motorcycle; Classical technique . Maybe even the same gang . 
I followed them , whilst live reporting their position to the police . All three were arrested , in possession of the stolen motorcycle .RESULT
A month later , WPC telephoned me ,” Would you be willing to appear in court as a witness sir ?”
“Will you keep my identity secret?”
“We cannot offer that sir , so your name will be revealed in court proceedings “
I’m sure you know my response .
In any case .. caught ‘red handed’ . No idea if successfully prosecuted .

Roadlock is HIGHLY visible, especially displaying its bright yellow pull chord with big ROADLOCK letters .

Gold lock with Gold wheels is probably a bad choice.
I can see why the bike owner did this but in reality an illuminous orange green or yellow would be better, but i notice Roadlok dont come in those colours.
I currently fit a Xena disc lock and because its stainless steel and cant be easily seen, i also fit an illuminous yellow Oxford disc lock with bright yellow cord to the handlebars.
My thinking is that the scroat will see this a mile off and target someone else.
Might be worth doing a survey to see if bikers would like a more obvious Roadlok colour choice.
