Attempted theft of GS in Dartford

Just a word of warning...one of our number (he hasn't posted about it so I won't say who in case it was deliberate) had an attempted theft of his GS early on Sunday morning.

From the sounds of it they knew what they were doing but fortunately they didn't get the bike away.

Might be worth keeping an eye out for vans loitering about and checking that security.....I know I've been very lapse about making sure my locks and chains are on recently.

PS Teaching granny to suck eggs etc etc but when returning from a ride, have a glance about......thieves follow bikes sometimes on smaller roads (IE when it looks like they're getting close to home) and watch the security in place as you put it away

Do we know any details of how the attempt was made, we can always learn from these things, ie type of lock forced, cropped, alarm fitted, attacked,garages entered, bike lifted.

( I know of a gang that travelled down from Bedford to Brighton in a van a few months ago. They searched around and actually lifted a locked R6 into the van, during middle of the night.

I had words with some young scallywags outside our flats last night, and explained they were standing on private land, to which they said "what - all this path is private land?" their excuse was that they'd just slipped out for a fag, and our drive was a good place for this - they were a bit bemused when I asked what their Dad would say if I went and stood in his back garden when I wanted a fag?!

What's the matter with these people - why don't they have any idea about other people's property and what's theirs and not theirs? Baxtards.

Yep...being done Friday apparently, which is when the bike's back from Prestige anyway.

Some thieves have no taste anyway...fancy going out of your way to nick a 1200
