Mea culpa, I've gone and done it. A new Honda Crossrunner now graces Chez Gatesy.
Its been an adventure(?) since 2004 when the first modern GS came out and we have completed some 70K miles since then on two machines with never a breakdown but times move on and I feel the urge for pastures new. It would not have been half as much fun without UKGSER and its members.
So good bye and thasnk you, oh and good runnings.

P.S. how does one unsubscribe please?

Good luck with the new acquisition. Might I suggest you don't buy this months copy of "Bike" magazine for your own personal enjoyment factor of the new steed.

It's not compulsory to unsubscribe just cos you no longer have a GS - lots of peeps on here have non GS bikes - stick around and push yer post rate up (you must have been too busy riding to post on here very much up til now  ;) )

While sticking around, you can also tell us what the crossdresser is like on a day to day basis - I quite fancy one and liked it when I test rode one, but got an offer I couldn't resist on a KTM 990 Adventure, so the Crossrunner will have to wait a while ... :D

Enjoy it whether you stick around on here or not :thumb2

i hope theyve worked their magic on that 800cc engine, i owned an 02 plate vtec it was a bland bike, beautifully made, but dull.

Thanks all. Maybe I will reconsider my mebership after all.

Done 1500 miles so far mostly getting it home from UK, NE via Liverpool, Calaise and home, so mostly motorway. V smooth compared to GS but so it should be, its a four after all. V-tec kicks in between 6500 and 7000, again you can feel the pick up and the engine note changes. So does the consumption! A good 50+ below 6500 and more like 35ish above when using sustained speeds. 6500 represents about 80 mph so not too bad for touring. The big difference is the accelleration, it justs takes off in any gear up to the red line at about 13K.
Attention to detail is everywhere and the fit of panels, cables, joints is spot on.
So weather is holding here and must be off again.
