I've decided to sell my much treasured AR CD7 Reference CD player, probably one of the finest sounding CD players ever made and over £8K when new. Mine has been fully serviced by Absolute Sounds in London (Importers of AR kit) and had significant AR upgrades making it known as the "CD reference 7.5" player. It uses the top notch triode 6H30 output stage lifted directly from their AR series 3 valve preamp, an upgraded power supply and was fitted with a brand new Phillips NOS Pro 2 transport by Absolute Sounds just a few years ago. I then re-valved it with original spec triodes and power supply 5881 valves. It's a battleship built player weighing in at over 32lbs!

It comes complete with original box and remote. Way too valuable to risk courier, so looking for pick up only or prepared to meet part way.

The AR 7 ref cdp, when not used for some time, requires about 30 to 40 minutes warm up time to read discs after which it rewards with some of the most staggeringly high fidelity playback with ultra low distortion and superb bass authority, bettering most high end vinyl set ups. When in regular use, warm up times are much shorter (perhaps 5 minutes). It's a quirk of these machines but the rewards are well worth it. Any ispection welcomed. It also has the AR remote present and correct.

Looking for £3K ono, collection from GL11 or meet half way to a reasonable distance. These are legendary CDPs and finding a good one is getting harder.

Happy to demonstrate what this is capable of on a top notch system with huge Tannoy speakers at the end of the system if interested and interested parties are able to travel to GL11.
Offers close to asking will be considered. Rare opportunity, and I know I'll regret selling this!

Wow, there's esoteric hifi stuff and then some, that is awesome, GLWS and hope it finds a good home (y)
