R1300 TE ASA. Ordered last Monday should get it on my 70th birthday on the 5th December. Absolute revelation for me with no clutch. Stupid money, but it keeps me biking.
Nice !
But I was replying to longdog who said quick shifters made him cringe, which I found an odd comment . Wondered how he felt about DCT !

I really can’t see the benefit of “quick shifters” on road bikes. After 60 years of riding bikes, I have a reasonably high level of mechanical sympathy and “quick shifters” just seem to make me cringe.
I thought that as well , as a very long time rider , my 1200 when pushed could be clutch less “ short shifted “ easily and smoothly , - - but the quick shifter on this Suzuki 800 DE is different level if you want to accelerate fast .
It’s very handy for nippy overtakes 👍

Quickshifters do get mixed opinions, its often because people try to change from first to second using the shifter, no shifter really likes that change because the shift is to long with Neutral in-between, shifters work best from second gear.

Not sure I could ride a bike now without a quick shifter. Did 3000 miles thru the Pyrenees in the summer and it was an absolute must. I think DCT or ASA is going to be the same but waiting until 2026 for a test ride as I know I will want one. Time for some people to change……

Absolutely. I only ever use quick shifter 2-6

On the GSA 1250 I tend to use the QS from 3rd gear either up or down and find the harder the throttle opening the smoother the gear change. Never really thought about QS until getting this bike, but now it's here I use it far more than I would have expected.
