Last year the 'team' travelled as 4 lads on 4 wheels. in the interim the wheels have increased to 6 and a GSA has been upgraded :thumby:

The trip plan was to use the Bank Holiday weekend to get a quick taste of the Scottish Highlands and Islands :scotsman

To Fort Bill

Setting off from Yorkshire it was a chilly but clear 2 degrees. First stop just north of Newcastle for an Olympic breakfast ;)

P5010232.jpg

With the temperature getting better it was a nice run up through the borders, mindful of the speed cameras :green gri

To Edinburgh and over the Forth road bridge.

Next was the manicured resort of Gleneagles  before getting into some more natural terrain.

You know you are nearly there when you get your green wellys on :)

And to the magnificence that is Glen Coe.

Skye Loop

Still recovering from the shock of the curry house running out of chapatis  we had the fortune to wake up to a clear day.

The plan was a loop up to Loch Ness, back to Skye and then the ferry to Mallaig.

First stop the Commando memorial at Spean Bridge.

Loch Lochy (somebody tried hard with this name...).

The road down to the Port is another beauty, and we arrived just in time.

To close the day out the road from Mallaig to Fort William completely spoils you.

As the little Scottish lass says Fantabidosy.

Nice one Mester Cooperman, great photos. Shame about the weather, I'm sure it didn't dampen your spirits too much. Stunning place Scotland for touring,,,, jealous me. No not at all :D

Thanks for the report guys, always enjoy seeing pics of Scotland

Oban 'n' Out

Another wet start to our journey back home :(

However you can't be too down riding along a shoreline like this.

Screen%2BShot%2B2015-05-06%2Bat%2B11.56.15.jpg

The only issue was to be suicidal deer! 3 separately jumped out in front of us on the run to the ferry

We were advised to get to the ferry for Oban early so we missed a cooked breakfast and accepted a doggy bag of sandwiches left on reception for us.

P5040371.jpg

Pole position :thumb2 Then the attendant wandered over to advise us the ferry was running an hour late :blast

Time to feck about with the camera...

Trip reflections.

Having biked a lot around Europe we were all in agreement that we had just experienced some of the best biking roads :thumb2

We had only scratched the surface of what is on offer in this glorious part of the world.

Why do ferries charge extra for the rider - can bikes go on by themselves :augie

No buyers remorse for changing to the new GSA. The bike is a real step forward :thumby:

The K1600 can go around corners...:bow

Looking forward to the 800 being replaced with the new 1200RS which, based on the performance of the GSA, will be a flyer :D

Assembled the GoPro footage :thumb

Called Cabbage Trees down here and the West Coast has the most striking examples. I love them.
