My mate has bought an Autel car diagnostics computer. It looks the biz and he says I can use it. Although it comes with lots of connectors non look like the BMW bike connector. Other connectors are available;e. Anyone know if i can get it to work with a 1200 GSA (2011).

I raised a similar question when the costs of a GS-911 were being discussed. The bike has a proprietary interface and fault coding (not OBD2 compliant) so a generic analyser even a very good one will almost certainly not work.

Why not ask Autel Tech and report back what they say?

You "might" be able to get it to read fault codes, but it'll do none of the other necessary things that need doing when plugging in a 1200.

I think that was the answer I was expecting. Another reason to buy a GS 911.
