ok I know I'm going to make a mess of this post. Here goes. Got a 2014 GSA last week. Been messing around with all the buttons. It's a bit ott. I think I'm getting the hang of it. DRL has a mind of its own. Two settings auto, on or off. My auto was off ( I think). Anyway riding along on a dark road fogs and dipped mains. I decided to try the cruse control and hit the feckin button for the smart arse drl by accident. On comes the drl of goes every other light. Spend valuable time looking for the light switch remember there isn't one go for fogs won't work because DRL is on which is overwriding all other lights nothing works till I hit that button again and light is restored. How the fuck can anyone come up with such a stupid system? If it's so bloody smart why doesn't it not work at all in the dark? Arseholes. Lovely bike though. Do you understand what happened? JJH

Referring to the manual.

With LED aux headlights.
The aux headlights are only active if the the low beam headlight is active. If the DRL is switched on the aux headlights cannot be switched on.

Manual DRL.
Automatic DRL is switched off.

Pages 55 - 58 of your manual.

Its the most simple, easy, less fuss thing on the bike ?
I never have to think about lights. Its all done for me.
When I first got my bike I felt lost in all the stuff. And probably could have said it was OTT. But I knew it was just because I was unfamiliar with it....
Nearly one year later I realise all the gimmicks are actually very well thought out.

A friend has just bought the same bike. He asked me about it. I put it on Auto for him and said "forget it now" ! He loves it.

Yes but I hit the switch by accident and lost all illumination WITHOUT requesting the lights to turn off. One action resulted in a totally unintended action which was danderious. Regardless of whether it was on auto or otherwise. JJH

Sounds like something's not quite right then. I can't turn my lights off in their entirety, neither it is possible to NOT have main beam on, if it's dark.

The option seems to be Auto-on or On, there is no OFF that I'm aware off.

I didn't turn them off. I turned on the drl and that seems to override the lights. Depends on mode. My point is that the lights went off without my permission. JJH

You pressed the DRL button didn't you with the aux lights in auto?

Don't unintentionally hit the engine kill switch. You'll loose engine power and that's dangerous too:rolleyes:

That's true. But if you hit the kill switch whether by accident or on purpose the engine will die. It won't die if you hit say the indaciator. I hit the DRL switch and got a unintended result. JJH
