Hi Y'all,
Have a 2005 1200GS and am about to wire my Kit 300 Autocom system up. I use the bike most days but there are odd occasions when it's in the garage for up to three weeks at a time (on charge with BMW charger). So the question is, where is the best place to take the switched live supply from to feed the Autocom? I've read various threads (come in GS Rich) but I need a little more detail if poss. Options ...............
1/ If I take it from the accessory socket, will the Autocom be powered up for the three weeks the bike's on charge (via the accessory socket) in the garage (BMW charger)?
2/ Brake light feed ?- not good ABS and all that!
3/ Tail light feed ? - what will be the impact on CAN BUS tail light failure warning ?
4/ Diagnostics socket has a switched live feed (live when ignition's on), could this be used ? - I could disconnect the feed from the socket to the Autocom before my BMW service visits??
Jeez, isn't life complicated, or is it just me !!! Any advice would be gratefully received. Cheers chaps/chapesses.
