Small problem on an otherwise brilliant system. I have an Autocom 200 wired to a Garmin Zumo 550 (hardwire, not bluetooth). Connected to this through the Zumo bluetooth link is a Nokia mobile (6110 nav if it makes a difference).

Sound quality is very good however outgoing voice through the mobile phone is very poor. The complaint for people on the other end is that the voice sounds very faint and distorted (recipients of calls say that it sounds like I am talking through helium from the bottom of a well). I can hear them fine.

I have tried various mic positions and adjusted the squelch at the box. I have also swapped headsets in case this was the problem but the issue remains.

Rider to passenger works fine.

Ideas?

What Autocom cable numbers are you using and what ports on the Autocom are you plugging them into?

I have the same set up and similar problems (helium with a pinched nose apparently). I am using a 550 Zumo hardwired through to Autocom Duo 200 (part 1299 - tried this at CMC in Chesterfield today). Phone is iPhone connected via bluetooth to Zumo. Music is hardwired to Aux 1. Everything seems to work fine, I can hear music, directions from Zumo and incoming calls. Rider to rider is crystal clear and sounds reduce appropriately when directions come through etc.

Would I be better off with a bluetooth thingy for the whole lot?

My setup is basically the same. I believe the cable is correct for the Zumo as this was what originally came from the previous owner (second hand system). The cable number is unclear. I have exactly the same symptoms as matlockscot.

Rider to rider clear, music and directions perfect, just the phone is unusable.

If your phone levels are low out this could be either down to the phone being used or due to the Bluetooth connection and your phone. Your Active could be adjusted to allow for your mic levels out to be increased.

Riiight.... :nenau

Clear as mud. Sorry, I am a bit slow today. Should I be looking at the phone, the Garmin or the Autocom unit?

Stupid questions are better than stupid actions.

All phones supply different levels of audio on their headset modes, so some are louder than others also with a bluetooth connection volume can be lost due to the style of link.

We normally suggest where possible try a different phone to see if this makes any difference. If not you know there could be an issue with the Garmin as our leads/comms are normally very reliable.
