autocom 2010 fitting

Hi guys
Just thought i'd ask if anyone knows how to hard wire autocom into 2010 gs without cutting and splicing wires because i want to use it on different bikes but am new to BMW's. Is there a special plug I need to buy.I have looked at other threads but need it explaining slowly as am new to this.

i put my earth to batt negative(obviously) and power lead to the aux socket under toolkit,this way all power shuts off automatically when the can bus shuts down,others have just put both leads on battery with no probs.

If you connected direct to battery would autocom be on all the time,is there nowhere you can just plug it in,also forgot to mention i have a bluetooth set up

connect it to aux socket,you cant leave it on and flatten the battery.the bike automatically shuts this socket down shortly after you switch off,unless you plug in the genuine bmw battery charger.

Thanks but sorry for being stupid can you drive with this sticking out and a cigarette connecter sticking out,wouldn't your leg just rip it out every two minutes

Wire the autocom to a male connector

Take a lead from the aux plug under the seat and one from the battery neg to the female connector and do similar on the other bike. You'll then have a portable autocom.

You can get plugs for the Aux socket cheap of E-Bay:

Look around and you will find you can also get the female socket (to fit to other bike if desired) extension leads etc.

Mines been plugged into the aux socket for 5 yrs and never once has it been pulled out by accident on or off road.
