Autocom and system 6

I've just purchased a new system 6 helmet and new Autocom headset. On checking out the Autocom site for fitting tips it says I should remove the chin bar. Is this necessary? I fitted a headset in my old system 5 some years back and don't remember having to remove the chin bar.
Any advice would be more than welcome........F

Sorry, I cannot remember whether I removed the chinbar or not. It's not difficult is it?

Fitted Autocom head sets to both our 6s and not remove the chin bar. Did it like the old system 5 and just took out the cheek pads. Seemed to be a little more difficult to get the speakers just right and had to trim some of the foam slightly but don't recall any major problems. Been working fine for the last 18 months and 12000 miles.
