I have a zumo 550 wired into an autocom easi-plus 150 duo. I took the bike down to the lake district at the weekend and got absolutely soaked. i now have a loud crackle coming through the autocom and the voice direction / music is now very low through the zumo. I've unplugged all of the leads and there seems to be no sign of moisture. The main unit seems dry and is under the seat in the tool tray, hard wired into the back of the power socket. I know that it may be best to let the bike sit in the garage all week to dry out, but is there a quick fix or somewhere to look first ? I'm also keen to stop this happening again, as it's bloody annoying. Any thoughts ?

This happens to me.............

I think water gets in where you plug the leads into the left side of the zumo..........

So I found the best solution was to pull into a service station, unplug the leads from the left side of the zumo and use the air line to blow any water away........

works for me

have had same....

I had the same problem. Tried the WD40 on everything but it remained.

Do you have a coiled lead to your helmet? My lead had broken down over time and failed exactly as you described. If you have a passenger lead try swapping over your helmet lead to see if it improves.........worth a try.

Roger.
