Eventually got it sorted, I threw it in the drawer and bought Interide and guess what......IT WORKS!, bloody good service too 
OH and for those that want to know and those that don't.
It isn't the earphone placement, which I have been saying all along!
I bought some Shure E3c earphones and the incoming caller still mutes, so if you have one of the latest Autocom 200 and your thinking of buying the 1299 lead, save yourself £38, it doesn't work!
As for 280 miles being a "Doddle"...... s'funny......I find anything up-to 700 miles a "Doddle" :cool

when I buy something, I expect it to work and not have to make a 280 trip to have it fixed but if that's your way of doing business
