Am trying to set up combination of Autom Logic L-1, Zumo 550, BlackBerry Curve and Ultimate Ear monitors. In terms of Autom bits, in addition to the L1 kit I have:
  • 2427 Basic bike power lead
  • 2138 Coiled headset extension lead
  • 2091 Headset loom for in-ear speakers
  • 2190 GPS interface lead
  • 2245 stero music lead
  • 2217 single stereo bluetooth module

L1 is connected to bike for power, and wired to Zumo. Now, if I connect my ipod to the L1 and plug in the standard Autocom speakers (these come as standard in the L1 kit, even though I don't intend using them), I can hear music and the Zumo commands mute the music. So far, so good. However if I use the headset loom (2091) for the UE monitors there's no sound through the monitors.

OK - on to the BlackBerry. I've paired it to "Auto1", such that when I select Device Properties for Auto1 under Bluetooth on the BB I get:

Device Name: AUTO1
Trusted: Prompt
Encryption: Enabled
Echo Control: Automatic
Device Address: 00:04:3E:3A519E
Services
  • Handsfree
  • Headset
  • AVRCP Controller
  • Audio Sink

Don't know what half of the above means, but it all looks very positive. Nevertheless when I call the BB it simply rings and rings....

In addition to the above problems, there are a couple of issues on which I'd like advice;

ipod: Mounting the ipod on the bike seems to be a good way of destroying it, so I'll be keeping it in a pocket. With the 2245 music lead, being male at both ends, the only way I can do this is to either have around 1 metre of lead emerging from under the seat and then plug this into the ipod when I'm on the bike, or have the lead connected to the ipod, then remove the seat, connect to the appropriate socket on the L1, replace seat, get on bike etc. - clearly nonsense. What I want is a female 3.5 socket poking out between seat and tank, alongside the headset socket. Then I can have the ipod in an inner pocket with a 1 metre lead connected and the end emerging from the bottom of my jacket. I then plug this into the female socket at the same time as I connect my headset;

2091 Headset Loom for Monitors: This has two leads with red plugs on the ends. I assume that these are for speakers? Has anyone experience of removing the speakers from the standard loom and connecting them to the Monitors' loom? This would give me the option of using the UE Monitors or the standard speakers with ordinary ear plugs.

Grateful for any advice.......

The Logic is so new that you should get technical help from the factory.
I have a 2091 loom that works perfectly with in ear monitors and I also use the headset speakers - but do me a favour and find out whether or not you should also have a part 2104 - Link Plug - in the loom where the Background Noise Sensor would normally plug in.

3.5mm sockets can be obtained from Maplin. Autocom also do a 60" extension lead (part 2260) that should stretch to the head-stock.

I am not sure what you want to do with the speakers, but I can tell you that the 8 ohm headset speakers are unique to the Logic series. You should NOT connect any other type of speaker to the Logic unit. All other Autocom speakers are 32 ohm.

Let us know how you get on. BTW, I don't do advice on pairing!!!

John

A pair of plug-in 8 ohm speakers is available for loom 2091 under part number 2101.
