Does any one know if GSrich can still be contacted or anyone else who knows the ins and outs of a Autocom. :rob

He's still a subscribed member......have you sent him a PM?

Ring chainspeed... they still deal with autocom and get paid to do so (by selling parts)... GSRich doesn't.

Oh no - you don't seem to be having a lot of success with this and your Zumo.

Did you fix the sound?

What's the problem?

The problem is that when i first start the bike and the Zumo is on, everything works as it should. After 10 -15 minutes i start to get problems. First the sound on the Zumo goes down by quite a bit, practicly untill you cant hear nothing, no music and no voice instruction regarding direction. Then after a while it will come back up a bit higher. It keeps cutting in and out of sound. If the engine is not running, you can just about hear the music. The other problem is, is that when the music is playing, the persons voice on the song sounds like it has a bad echo, or the best way to descibe it, is that it sounds like their heads in a bucket, when this happens the voice prompts cut into the music for directions , but you cant hear the promp. It is very very faint. I went to Bahnstormers today and they changed the back of the Auxilary switch which was badly corroded. I was praying that this would resolve it. 10 minutes up the road and it goes Pear shaped again. I seem to think that there is something wrong woth the auto com. If i could find someone on the Isle of Wight, who has a Zumo 550, i would let them try it out. I have read the threads about the contact being corroded but mine look in good nic.
Any help would be very much appreciated. :bow Alk the volume levels on the Zumo and Autocom are on maximum.

Just wondering, did you ever swap the input for the Zumo onto one of the other sockets on the Zumo? This still sounds like a stereo/mono mixup problem.

Are you using a stereo or a mono lead?

When you asked about what sounds like this problem before, I suggested moving the Zumo plug to one of the other inputs.

Think its been sorted. With a lot of help from Sam at Chainspeed (cant sing his praises enough) and a process of elimination, we are almost sure its the lead from Aux 3 on the AC main unit, to the Zumo. Sam has sent a replacement lead, so fingers crossed. :JB

Sorry mate I still try and keep an eye on things on here but with my new job internet access is pretty strick and I cant always get on here due to the filters.

Out of work I havent stopped for mths and again struggle to get on here.

I will always try and reply to my PM's but it might take me a day or two....or a week or so lol. When I worked at Autocom I could check on here daily for any problems which made things a lot easier and faster, I tried my best to help along from my time on here and sometimes with the politics at work (anything bad on here I did was always a HUGE problem and the good was NEVER seen) sometimes I felt like WTF am I actually doing helping as much as I can on here. Simples things like calling people "mate" got me some emails saying not to call people "mate" again wtf its a forum and its always the case of things being chilled on here and I should not need to call people "sir" :blast

Anyhow rant over........and I had to get to get that off my chest now I can talk freely, im away for 2wks on hols so any PM's will be replied to afterwards so please bear with me.

Thats all

Rich :beerjug:

ps cheers for all of the support and nice comments ive had of everyone on here for over the last couple of yrs you all made me want to come back so that to me speaks many words and shows how many top people are on here. :clap
