Autocom keeps cutting out

Hey all,

I've just had a new Autocom 300 fitted to my 1200GS. Only problem is that it keeps cutting in and out as I'm riding.

The garage claims that it's my battery, but I had a check of the battery and it appears to be holding a full charge and charging fine off the alternator.

Also tried sticking the batt on a 24hr charge to be sure. Rode the bike for 10mins. Everything was fine. Went to ride home and the dam Autocom just kept cutting in and out the whole way home!!

Any ideas? Anyone seem this prob before?

It will a power socket issue as common with the early 1200 GS's if you do a search you will find what needs to be done.

Had another look through the site and some are suggetesting that it may be a software issue.

I've also been on to one of the main BMW dealers (how shall remain nameless). They suggest that the bike needs a new battery even though the current one appears fine. This puzzelled me a bit and even the dealer said he couldn't explain it, but that is what BMW suggest and that it's worked for other bikes with a similar problem.

Sounds like complete BS to me but looks like I'm going to have to fork out another pile of cash to keep this piece of crap running! AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!
