Gentlemen do you know if you can get a lead that will connect from the helmet lead straight into the Ipod?
I have my Autocom in a tank bag, but sometimes i leave the tank bag behind or take another bike which the tank bag does not fit. So I was wondering if there is a lead I can get to use the speakers in the helmet rather than having to mess around with another set of headphones when not using the bag.

I emailed autocom about this, they don't make one but could make one up for £20, but they don't recomend it as if its not going through the autocom its not getting amplified - so I didn't bother in the end.

Might have a go at making one though as I have a spare extention cable.

Looks like i'll be doing the same thing

It may not be amplified by the Autocom but the headphone output socket of the iPod has a small pre-amp so you would just use the iPods own volume control...surely:confused:

yea it should work, especially if you use EUPOD to boost the Ipod volume levels.

Gonna pick up a stereo jack from Maplin later.

Found I actually had one of these in my garage:

So I connect the shielding to the clamp, don't connect the red and yellow wires, the white and red positives to the relevant points - where do the negatives go - to the ground/clamp or to the same points as the positives?

Green Left Speaker -
Red Mic +
Yellow Auto on/sidecar mic
Screen Ground
White Speaker left +
Black Speaker Right+
Blue Speaker Right -

The main reason we do not sell such leads is that we can not say for sure on how good the level of volume would be from the music source as our speakers are designed to be used alongside our main amps inside our comms.

Yea fair enough Rich, its a fair point.

I just made up the lead, and it does work and the volume level is ok but I haven't road tested it, I think it will be on the quiet side but as an occasional solution it should do the job.

Have you used EUPOD on theiPod for gain more volume?

Yea I've boosted it, I've tried it with earplugs and its fine in the house, need to road test it really. My shuffle seems to be louder which I what I normally use so that will probably be ok. I suppose could not wear ear plugs which would obviously boost the volume a bit as well!
