Having recently returned to the fold on a 2010 GS i would like to ask where does everyone locate their autocom's:confused:

I want to hook the autocom up to the Garmin Zumo(already fitted)

Once i got the bike home i thought i would take the rear seat off to see would there be enough room under that..... Bloody ell, someone is having a laugh:eek:
Where do i put my disc lock, side stand puck, cloth or anything for that matter!!

Your suggestions would be much appreciated:thumb2

Where the owner's hand book would go and / or where the tool roll would go.

+1 :thumb2 where the owners handbook sits; mine fits very nicely there.

I have also velcro'd the autocom b/t dongle on the inside of the tool roll compartment - again, fits nicely there with other wiring items.

Thanks

My handbook came supplied loose but will take a look to see where that locates.
Without trying to sound stupid where do i locate the toolroll if i use that space:confused:

Oh sorry,BMW's don't break down:D:D

Mine's where the handbook should be, under the front of the front seat, above the battery.

put my tools in a tool tube and fastened to right hand pannier frame. now able to carry tools that are of use and a spare fpc without having to carry panniers and top box. just search for tool tube and all will be revealed.

Autocom on mine goes under the tool roll tray and is held nicely in place. Tool roll then stays where it should be together with my multi-tool.

Autocom where the tool roll is, then the tool roll fore and aft between battery and toolroll position, under seat.

If you were to have had it fitted by Autocom, they would put it into the tool tray. They will refuse to mount it above the battery because when the bike gets wet, water runs down the back of the tank in some quantity, apparently and the units are not waterproof.

+1 on the above. BMW dealer fitted my active 200 near the tank (between tank and seat)- 9 months later it had gone pop due to water damage.

My new one is fitted under the left ali pannel safe rom water!

Cheers
Phil
