So im flying along at warp factor 7 on the GS and ive got my MP3s blaring out and its peeing it down as usual on my commute to work and interuppting Julia Roberts singing the song from the Sound of Music I hear a horrible crackle. This carrys on over the song from Annie, the Sun will come out and even the singing in the rain song from whatever movie that was from.

Think the water has invaded a socket somewhere and was causing some fun in the sparky bits.

I usually leave my pugs exposed in the non vertical position but even so I imagine that they collect water somewhere and surely this cant be doing them any good.

So what can I do to keep em clean, dry, free from corrosion etc???

Do you guys do anything with yours??? :nenau

Had this crackle crop up last year after riding back home in hard Rain for about Ninety Miles. Tried all sorts of fiddling to cure but nothing worked. I mentioned it to my dealer and the parts guy said come on we`ll test it. He grabbed a set of earphones from the demonstrator set up and we went outside to my bike. By a process of elimination we found the faulty lead to be the Pillion one (Long one I think). No problemo, just peel the sticker off the Autocom unit to reveal the screws and undo the box. Next simply unplug the faulty lead and plug in the replacement. Bobs your granny as they say!

Hope this helps.............:bounce1 ..........BB

Go to Robert Dyas, buy a walking stick rubber end piece for £1, it fits snugly over the end of the Autocom lead like it was purposely made for the job. :thumb
