Thanks, rear light seems favorite, i dont fancy leaving the autocom on all the time. there isnt much room under the seat as it is so a fuse board may not fit. I have got an icomm transmitter under there too. :beerjug:

I just started using my Autocom with custom made in-ear monitors (ultimate ear) and was getting all kinds of electrical 'noise' which I hadn't noticed with the in-helmet speakers and earplugs. Obviously the in ear monitors need far less volume as they isolate the outside noise and put the sound directly onto your eardrums. I could hear the sparking pulses, alternator whine, and abs pump whine when the lever/pedal was used for brakes, which was extremely annoying. I'm about to do a few long journeys and was worried about audio comfort so I stripped things down to basics.

On investigating, both the autocom unit and the red/black audio splitter isolator unit I use for phone & GPS inputs were close to the main power looms from the battery (Odyssey 535). By moving these units away from the battery leads, all electrical interference has now gone. I guess the red/black audio splitter isolator unit isn't that well screened for interference. I would advise anyone fitting Autocom to try and locate it as far away from the engine/electrics as possible. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem, or at least puts them on the right track :thumb .

The centec box looks the ideal solution. Where can i get one? However where you have mounted it, that is where my autocom box is, and my radio is where the tool kit was.

I fitted one of these about 3 weeks ago in the same position as Shep, move the Autocom under one of the side panels or under the tank.

You can get them from Motorrad Concepts either as a stand alone unit which means the feed is always live or with a relay kit which switches the box off with the ignition.

It gives you loads of connections for accessories and you can change the fuses to match.

Alternately Autocom make a relayed connector specifically for their units, costs £24 from memory.

I took mine off when I fitted th Centech if your interested. :D

Thanks, just ordered one! :)

When you make your bracket just take the seat bar off the seat, place the bar in the locating slots on the frame this will show you where the box will mount without fouling :thumb

If you mount the box too high it will foul the seat base you can gain a bit of room by removing one of the plastic ribs with a file

Might get someone to help, i am electrically challenged somewhat!
Thanks for help though! :beerjug:

Thanks, if theres anyone out there who is nearby to me (MAnchester area) And is competant at this please let me know. :nenau

just fitted new autocom duo to my 1200Adv, ground wire to battery - terminal, power to blue/grey wire to left of headstock (soldered and heatshrink) then rewrapped in tape.

works perfectly, I have a TTrider bluetooth dongle plugged into the Autocom as well via their adapter. The dongle clips to the crossbar pad a treat and I ran the wire under the tank and cliped to existing Handle bar wiring with new zip ties, looks factory :)

I am experimenting between using my Nokia 6310i direct with the Autocom or through the TT rider. The Rider has it at the moment because you can quickly see whos calling on the big screen.
