I had to renew the Mp3 lead on my autocom as the old one had frayed. With the new one installed there is now a crackling noise interfering with the music and at times the volume decreases and then suddenly comes back. i have checked that all the leads are pushed in but there is still interference. Would there be a problem with the new lead or something else. The autocom is working in conjunction with an Amprider.

process of elimination

take the Amprider out and see if it still crackles without it in place

then replace the Mp3 lead back to the old one to see if it works ok

also is the crackle still there if mp3 is not conected

Something I noticed on my mp3 is there is little space to get the jackplug into and the newer jack plugs have the plastic down further. I trimmed back a little and worked prefectly.

Got the same problem :spitfire.
Just managed to fit and workout which cables fit to which sockets on my Amplirider and set off for Llangollen on Friday with a loud whining in my headphones.
I'm assuming this appears to be a general problem with the Amplirider?

I only fitted the Amplirider as there isn't a facility on the Autocom to turn down the volume on my MP3 should you wish to talk to someone off the bike.

I too have the amplirider with the same problems. Did you manage to sort out the problem?
