i was out with the "boss" (shmbo) today on a bike i bought recently which is fitted with an autocom system. the system only worked intermittently breaking in and out every few seconds, any one got any ideas
The vox is set too high. It's designed to block out back ground noise using a sound (voice) just above what it's set at to open the microphone. Read the manual and it will give you a position to set it to as a base starter. You can then move higher or lower depending on helmet noise
Microphone position is critical as well, if it's too far away it will only pick up part of your speech. It should just be touching your lips if you make a kissing motion

As you well know I am "awash" with brownies points at all times. The bike ride was a way of illustrating to SHMBO the joy derived from spending money on bikes and bike related products, and why it is so important that I keep myself informed on any developments in the industry in general by going to Milan next weekend.
Thanks for all the assistance to date. I will have to get my hands on the manual. safe riding
