I am trying to wire up a quest cradle but when I have my autocom on with the gps in the cradle I am getting a pulsing interference. The autocom is powered from a switched live from the rear tale light and the Quest Cradle is powered from a switched live from the front lights. Any ideas?

I have put this in a thread in the GPS section but am not sure how often that gets viewed so it's here as well - impatience pah

I could be really unhelpful and say get a starcom.. or i could say... err.. well why not take the power from something more 'forward' that the tail light, such as a dash light, less wire, less chance of interference.. err maybe.. im no electrician but thats what i did... But i have a starcom so it dont really apply... sorry..

Just read the above it doesnt make sense, sorry.. im an idiot..

Its worth a search in the Quest section (gps info).

GSRich may add to this .. if its Garmin's Quest bike cradle or RAM GA15 with QPAC combo. the cable linking the bikecomm control unit to the jack socket in the gps cradle needs a male jack ended lead that has rf suppresion choke in the lead which I suspect you may not be using.

Just like, pre alternator times when cars had a dynamo and car radios crackled .... many years ago:rob
