Fitted a Super ProRider AVI 300 and it works OK. There was noise fom the ABS (1150Adv) so Autocm sent me a lead to solve this. The lead connects to the battery and they suggest taking a live from the front power outlet (which is what I've done). The problem is that the unit is now all the time. I've tried both side of the outlet but with no change.

Any suggestions?

Buy a 1200 if you've got a 1150 / 1100?

Or put a switch in one of the battery feeds.

Or, ask Autocom if the unit switches off automatically when you disconnect the headset.

The last one may be the cheapest / easiest ;)

I would ask Autocom but their shut on a Suday!

The whole idea of the lead from Autocom is that it's supposed to do what I' trying to get it to do....:)

A 1200 would need to go in for major surgery after anythings connected to it...:D

Looks like a strip down again.

The way I had it wired in the beginning was the right way (direct to the fuse box), may just have been a 'dirty' supply causing the noise.

The part supplied was never not needed :mmmm (more money wasted)
The outlet at the front on an Adv 1150 is a constant live, not switched as I'd been led to believe

Now got to pull the tank and fairing ...again...:(

When I've added autocoms / gps etc I've always managed to route the wires down the side of the tank. Take of the little side panel and then make sure you don't disturb the throttle cable. It's then fairly easy to route the wires past the telelever etc. Lot eeasier than taking off the tank, if explaining it isn't :o

Thanks John, unfortunately all my 'comms' stuff is routed together like a loom as I have 2 video cameras/GPS/phone/iPod linked. The cameras are 'hardwired' i.e. they are always on the bike. I have the loom running higher up the tank the than where you describe. It's not a massive job, just one I could do without having to do right now as I'm right in the middle of sorting a 13 bike trip to Corsica in the next week.
