So, I took the plunge and goy myself a nice new Noetec.
Before I go ripping it to bits (aready had a sneaky peek), has anyone fitted an Autocom headset to one ?

I've searched t'internet and this esteemed forum and not found anyone that has, as yet :D

Fitted an Autocom headset to my wifes Neotec at the weekend. I removed the cheek pieces followed by the earpiece covers (foam and plastic with a fabric cover). I removed the foam from the back of the earpiece cover and removed the Autocom round speaker from the oval frame. I then stuck the speakers to the fabric earpiece covers and put them back into the helmet pushing the three plastic locator lugs into their holes.
I mounted the microphone on the left side, with the flat arm sandwiched between the cheek-piece and the helmet (+ a bit of duct tape). The drop lead I "forced" into the gap between the cheek piece of the helmet and the padding going around the head. The wires were plugged into the speakers/microphone, and the long one to the right speaker was routed behind the head underneath the removable lining.
When I put the cheek pieces back in to the helmet I lead the drop lead out of the back of the "side curtain" of the cheek piece with the help of some duct tape.
I will probably make the drop lead a bit more permanent and lead it through the "side-curtain" of the cheek piece after a bit of use and being sure the helmet is OK.

Did you come up with a better solution for the drop lead? I fitted mine today and the easiest solution without mullering something was probably the same as yours by exiting at the back, but I'd prefer it to come out of the side.

Thanks for the photos Big D. That's where I wanted my lead to come out so I'll have to give it another go!

Can anyone post photos or give advice fitting autocom to the Neotech with the lead coming from the side? The photos aren't available anymore!

Dave

I dont have photos to hand but bring it out the back (leave a bit of length on it) then use 2 8mm plastic p clips with double sided tape on the end and fold the lead over the side pushing the p clips down between the lining and the shell. looks Neet and if you use nice thick double sided sticky buds it wond budge as it sticks and wedges in. I have had mine like this for 2 years and its works a treat, tried fetching the lead out of the side but the wind noice that got up between the lining and the shell was a pain.

I will try and post a picture tonight of mine to show you what I have tried to describe above.

Dave dementia must be setting in, I changed it to side entry when i fitted an audio lead before chrimbo, it works without wind noise I pushed the leads into the pad gap and use velcro to hold it in place although I used a spoon handle to push the leads in place tight fit.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1440011029.870915.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1440011043.691604.jpg
