I'm hoping Rich will pick this up...

After my visit to Autocom last week (thanks very much for fixing it chaps:thumb2) I now have music and my ears aren't squashed. However, I'm unable to get decent volume in my Arai Tour-X, even with the Ipod turned up full. But - I noticed today whilst bimbling about that when I lift my visor up, the music gets louder, and when I close it is gets quieter. So, the volume is just about OK with the visor up at low speed (less than about 40mph) but too quiet with the visor down, and at faster speeds. I guess it's something to do with the BGNS, (which was fitted by Autocom just so it's by my left temple in the helmet).

Is there an adjuster that needs adjusting somewhere?

Do you have the 'Rider Volume' turned up on the Autocom unit? Or are you going through a sat nav. If so the master volume on it.:nenau

I get voice instructions from the satnav but music is played from an Ipod plugged into the autocom. The rider volume on the Autocom is turned right up. The volume on the Ipod is turned right up. I can hear the voice instructions from the sat nav easily, with the volume at about 60%, but the music is not loud enough to hear properly.

I had the same problem with my iPod. They limit the maximum volume for European iPods, this can be tweaked with a software update, however, I still found this too low.

In the end I bought a Boostaroo from Amazon for about £15. Job done, fantastic now. It's a mini amp that you simply plug the iPod into and then plug the Boostaroo into the Autocom. It runs on a pair of AA batteries.

Why not put your music onto a memory card and stick that into your Sat nav ans ditch the Ipod?
